বিশিষ্ট পরমাণু বিজ্ঞানী ড. ওয়াজেদ মিয়ার চেহলাম আজ শুক্রবার তার গ্রামের বাড়ি ফতেহপুরে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। তার স্ত্রী প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ওয়াজেদ এতে উপসি'ত থাকবেন।
পারিবারিক সূত্র জানায়, দুপুরের আগেই প্রধানমন্ত্রী হেলিকপ্টারযোগে পীরগঞ্জ সরকারি বিদ্যালয় মাঠে অবতরণ করবেন। এরপর তিনি গাড়িযোগে সরাসরি ফতেহপুরে যাবেন। সেখানে প্রয়াত স্বামী, শ্বশুর ও শাশুড়ির কবর জিয়ারত শেষে আমন্ত্রিত অতিথিদের সঙ্গে দুপুরের খাবার খেয়ে শ্বশুরবাড়িতে কিছুড়্গণ নিকটাত্মীয়দের সঙ্গে কাটাবেন। এরপর ঢাকার উদ্দেশে তিনি পীরগঞ্জ ত্যাগ করবেন। চেহলামে মোট ৫০ হাজার মানুষের খাবার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে। এ জন্য মাটির তৈরি খাবার পেস্নট আমদানি করা হয়েছে সাড়ে ৭ হাজার। ২০০ মন চাল রান্না করা হবে। ৫০টি গর" ছাড়াও হিন্দুদের জন্য পৃথক খাসির আয়োজন থাকবে। যে কোনো প্রকার বিশৃঙ্খলা এড়াতে বিশেষ নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস'াও নেয়া হয়েছে।

Dear our highly valuable members,
How are you all? I am very happy to announce that our group titled nuclear scientist Dr. MA Wazed Miah has reached the milestone numbers of 1,000 already. It was only possible because of your continuous supports and cooperation. It is only you, who have made it possible.
I assure you that this group will never serve any interests of any personal, or any political parties. It will definitely work to materialise the dreams of late nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah, 100 % clean man. Dr MA Wazed Miah shall be remain in the millions hearts who want Bangladesh corruption free. He has kept himself totally corruption-free despite of being a member of a high profile political family. He has never misused his power in this whole life. Student leaders should follow him, as he was not only a very brilliant student but also an elected and popular student leader in Dhaka University.

How can we change Bangladesh and the globe?
Dear friends,
How are you my dearest friends? Though I am not over-frustrated, it definitely has shocked me that only ten people so far joined this cause. I personally recruited ten others but you unfortunately did not invite to your friends to join this non-political cause of renaming the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission into Dr MA Wazed Miah Atomic Energy Commission. I am not a day-dreamer; I know well that joining the cause can not force the concerned authority to rename the atomic energy commission after Dr Wazed Miah. We shall need to continue street peaceful agitation in order to achieve our first target. This is our ground work only for our further vision.
We may need to go to meet the opposition leader and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia for seeking her consent to rename it after Dr Wazed Miah’s name. We believe she will also agree with us and extend her all supports in this regard. We should not embarrass the departed soul of our pioneer scientist Dr Wazed Miah by removing his name from the renamed atomic energy commission after changing government as we had to see such bad trends in the past.
This is why we again submissively requesting you to recruit more friends for our group and cause. Wishing you every success.

Respected Members,
How are you? I hope you all are fine. We need some active group members who really want to work for the country, for the nation and finally for the global peace and security. Please invite all others friends to join us. You can also help us by sharing the link of this group, by inviting your friends through importing contracts option from your email address in Facebook other than inviting your Facebook friends selecting by mouse click.
We have reached about 850 members but our primary target is to collect at least 1,000 members. Then we shall go for media coverage so that people of the other networks can learn about this group. We are also planning to buy a domain name and organize a view exchange meeting. We want to share our opinion with different classes of people. We will seek supports from all the political parties other than the ruling Awami League so that the concern authority rename the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission into Dr MA Wazed Miah Atomic Energy Commission as per our demand to recognize the long standing contribution of late Dr MA Wazed Miah, our pioneer nuclear scientist. We don’t want such embarrass situation that no question arise after changing the government after five years. We want supports from all political parties. We want to see Dr Wazed name forever, whoever come to power in future.

Short biography of international renowned nuclear scientist late Dr M A Wazed Miah
Born on February 16 in 1942, in a respectable Muslim family of Fatepur village under Pirganj upazila of Rangpur district, Dr Wajed was the youngest among four sons and three daughters of Abdul Quader Mia.
He studied up to class four at the primary school at his village and then up to class six at a high school under the Pirganj thana.
He obtained his matriculation with distinction from Rangpur Government District School in Rangpur district in 1956 in first division and was admitted to Rajshahi Science College from where he passed the Higher Secondary Certificate examination securing second position in merit list.
Wajed Mia was admitted to Physics Department of Dhaka University in 1958 and obtained first class first in B. Sc (hons) in 1961 and first class first in M.Sc in 1962 from same university.
He joined the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission on April 9 in 1963. He obtained his 'Diploma from Imperial College of London in 1963- 64.Dr M A Wazed Miah returned home in September 1967 after obtaining his PhD degree in Physics from Durham University of the United Kingdom and joined as scientific officer at Atomic Energy Research Centre in Dhaka. Later, he was engaged in post-doctoral research from November 1969 to 1970 in London.
Dr M A Wazed Miah tied his nuptial cord with Sheikh Hasina, daughter of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on November 17 in 1967. They have a son and a daughter - Sajib Wajed Joy and Saima Wajed Putul.
In 1969 he got the associate-ship of Italy-based International Theoretical Physics Research Centre of Nobel Laureate Professor Dr Salam where he was engaged in a research project under the world- renowned scientist. In the same year he returned home and remained engaged with Atomic Energy research Centre. In 1975 he was in the then West Germany to undergo higher training on atomic reactor science while his wife Sheikh Hasina was with her at that time and thus evaded the August 15, 1975 carnage. He was engaged in research works at the New Delhi-based laboratory of Indian Atomic Energy Commission from 1975 to 1982, the period he actually was forced to leave an exiled life after the killing of Bangabandhu along with most of his family members. On return home, he rejoined the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission and retired as its chairman in 1999.
A nuclear scientist of international repute, Dr MA Wajed Mia, who breathed his last at a city hospital yesterday, is known more for his professional excellence in scientific arena but close friends and contemporaries were familiar to his role also as a student leader during the climax of Bengali nationalist movement in 1960s. His quality earned the position of the vice president of Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall while he was always under the affectionate shadow of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He even was arrested and served in jail for his leading role in the then 1962 students movement against Education Commission recommendations shrinking facilities for higher education. But his academic excellence and knack for academic pursuit made him a nuclear scientist eventually installing to the top position of the country's Atomic Energy Commission after long career as a researcher and fellow at different scientific institutes and organizations in different countries including Germany and India. He all through tried to maintain a low profile while in personal life, led a very simple life and was an amiable person but never compromised with anything unjust.
Apart from his publications on scientific research and nuclear science, Wajed Mia also authored a number of books on social and political issues including one on the memories of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The books included Fundamentals of Electromagnetics, Fundamentals of Thermodynamics and 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib-ke Ghire Kichhu Ghatana o Bangladesh'
